Winston-Salem, NC -  Johnson & Wales Charlotte continued their season opening four game road swing at Salem College on Saturday. The Spirits defeated the Wildcats 3-0 on a rainy afternoon.

Salem got on the board in the seventh minute when Cristina Battistini found the back of the net for her second goal of the season. The Spirits added to their lead twenty-six minutes later when Chelan Gaul picked up her first tally of the season. Darilyn Nieto capped the scoring with her sixth goal of the season with 18 minutes left.

Salem doubled up JWU in shots, 28-14. Lauren Burch led the Wildcats with 5 shots, while Jayden Price added 4 more. Leah Bragaw made 13 saves.

JWU is next in action on Wednesday, September 14th as they travel to Methodist for a 6:00pm kickoff.
