Men's Soccer Draws With Methodist

Box Score

Pineville, NC - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte men's soccer team drew with Methodist on Tuesday night at OrthoCarolina Sportsplex.

The visiting Monarchs got on the board first in the game's 10th minute when Casey Atwell took a free kick from 25 yards and blasted it past Wildcat keeper Benjamin Burger. Methodist would make that lead stand up for the rest of the half, and for the first seventeen minutes of the second.

JWU finally struck in the 63rd off a Diaje' Hart corner kick. He directed it near post to Lucas Lesh, who found Josiah Davis in front of goal. Davis put it home for his team leading 5th goal of the season.

The Wildcats outshot Methodist 8-7 on the evening. Methodist goalkeeper Cole Hupp made 5 saves, while Burger made 2 of his own.

JWU is next in action on Saturday as they play host to Carolina University at 3:30pm.
