Charlotte, NC - Johnson & Wales men's soccer team kicked off their home slate on Wednesday night by playing host to local foe Pfieffer University. The teams played to a 2-2 tie.

How It Happened:

• The teams played a scoreless first 45 minutes, combining for 11 shots, but none seriously threatening to dent the opponents goal, as JWU's Mason Graham and Pfeiffer's Rhett Bolick were equal to the task in net.
• JWU finally broke through in the 63rd minute when Diaje' Hart served a corner kick accurately to the head of Tighe Torgusen who headed it past Bolick.
• The Wildcats doubled their lead 20 seconds later when Billy Esparza-Diaz scored off of a long distance free kick.
• Pfeiffer pulled one back in the 67 minute as JWU fouled them in the penalty area. Sam Stewart converted the penalty kick for the Falcons.
• Nick Ruscetti knotted the score in the 77th minute as Pfeiffer fought back to tie the match. 
• A frantic last quarter hour could not break the deadlock.
