Box Score Pineville, NC - Taylor Witherspoon scored the game winner with sixty-eight seconds remaining to give Johnson & Wales a 2-1 win over USC-Lancaster on Monday night.

The Wildcats again jumped in front early in the match as Katie Douglas struck for her team leading eighth goal of the season in the seventeenth minute. The JWU defense made that stand up for the rest of the half, limiting the Lancers to just a lone shot.

Lancaster evened things up five minutes into the second half as Sarah Hollje found the back of the net off a feed from Julie Eskes. The Lancers mounted more offense in the stanza, getting off 5 shots on goal. Zoe Balmer saved 4 of those to keep the Wildcats level. The JWU offense raised their level in the final five minutes, as Sarah Milne's shot in front of net was blocked away before Witherspoon collected a deflection at the top of the eighteen and fired it low and right past Lancer keeper Shyann Holt for the winner.

The Wildcats next travel to Front Royal, VA on Friday for a 4pm match against Christendom College.
