Men's Soccer Draws With Bruins In Regular Season Finale

Bermuda Run, NC - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte men's soccer team came away with a 2-2 draw against Carolina University on Wednesday night.

How it happened:
  • JWU jumped on top in the thirty-third minute when Tyler Morgan found a streaking Andrew Fanelli who finished the job in front of net.
  • The Wildcats doubled their lead eighteen minutes after halftime as Juan Santana-Urieta picked up a loose ball in front of net off of a corner kick.
  • The Bruins pulled one back three minutes later as Karell Buitendijk scored for Carolina U.
  • Buitendijk converted a penalty kick in the seventy-second minute to tie the score.
Key Stats:
  • JWU came into the game ranked 1st in the USCAA, while Carolina U. was ranked 6th in the NCCAA. 
  • CU outshot JWU 23-13.
  • Fanelli led the Wildcats with 4 shots, 3 of which were on target.
  • Colin Starr made 10 saves.
