Charlotte, NC - Visiting Saint Augustine's defeated Johnson & Wales Charlotte 76-58 on Friday night.
The Falcons used a 19-9 second quarter to turn a 23-22 advantage after the first ten minutes into a 42-31 halftime advantage. Saint Augustine's made 50% of their field goal attempts in the first half to stay ahead of the Wildcats.
JWU got within 8 points with four minutes left in the third quarter, but could trim no more off of their deficit. The Falcons made 16 of 20 free throw attempts on the evening to keep the Wildcats from getting any closer.
Jamyah Blakeney led the Wildcats with a career-high 17 points, while
Jayla Lovett came off the bench to score 16.
The Wildcats play their final home game before the semester break on Monday, December 11th at 6pm when they host Guilford Tech.
