Charlotte, NC - Johnson & Wales Charlotte used a second half rally to defeat Salem 69-59 on Tuesday night.
The visiting Spirits used a 16-9 second quarter to take a five point lead at the half. The period saw JWU shoot just 3 of 19 from the field after making 56% of their shots in the first quarter.Â
The Wildcats rallied in the third quarter, outscoring Salem 19-13. JWU forced 10 turnovers in the period. The final stanza saw JWU control the boards, outrebounding Salem 19-8, leading to 4 second chance points. The JWU lead grew to as many as 11 with a minute to play, before the Wildcats settled for the ten point win.
Aimee Evans led the Wildcats with 13 points, while
Jordan Durant added 12.
Jayla Lovett scored 10 points, and
Korletta Daniels just missed a double-double with 8 points and 9 rebounds.
The Wildcats are next in action on Friday, December 8
th, when they host St. Augustine's at 5pm.
