Hollins, VA - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte women's soccer team posted their first shutout of the season with a 7-0 win over host Hollins on Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats jumped in front early whenÂ
Azalianna Absalom scored off of a rebounded save at the ten minute mark. Absalom was involved in the second JWU goal just two minutes later when she spotted
Katie Douglas open in the middle of the Hollins defense. Douglas took the pass and found the back of the net.Â
Taylor Witherspoon completed a first half hat trick, sandwiched around the first collegiate goal from
Elizabeth Parsells as JWU went into intermission leading 6-0.
Savannah Weekes added a goal in the 62nd minute for the game's final tally.
The Wildcats outshot Hollins 34-2, putting 24 of those shots on frame.
Zoe Balmer went the distance in net, making one save in earning her first career shut out.
JWU is next in action on Tuesday, September 19th, when they host Salem at 6:00pm.
