Pineville, NC - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte wrapped up the September portion of their home schedule with a 2-0 over Wake Tech on Wednesday night.

The Wildcats peppered the Wake Tech goal with shots in the early part of the game, but the Eagle defense, with the help of hte goal post, kept JWU at bay. Nine minutes before the halftime whistle, Johnson & Wales finally broke on top when Evan Retzlaff's free kick was deflected up in the air by Tighe Torgusen. The ball caromed right to Lucas Lesh who deftly headed it over onrushing Wake Tech goalkeeper Nash Gibson, and into the back of the net.

JWU added another goal nine minutes after halftime when Torgusen redirected a Juan Santana-Urieta free kcik into the side of the Eagle goal. Wake Tech couldn't mount a threat in the remaining thirty-five minutes as JWU outshot them 20-5 and Tanner Newport kept a clean sheet for his first win of the season.

Lesh had 4 shots to lead the Wildcat attack, while Ahmed Ghosheh and Eugenio de la Parra Polina added 3 each.

The Wildcats make the short trip to Misenheimer, NC on Saturday to take on Pfeiffer at 12pm.
