Misenheimer, NC - Johnson & Wales posted their sixth shutout in seven matches this season with a 1-0 win over Pfeiffer on Saturday afternoon.
Offense was hard to come by in the contest, as the teams combined for just ten shots, only three of which were on target. The Wildcats made the most of their one true opportunity to score, as in the fifty-ninth minute,
Christopher Haynes intercepted a Falcon pass near the top of the Pfeiffer penalty area. Two passes later,
Lucas Lesh found
Andrew Fanelli alone in front of goal, and he calmly deposited it into the back left corner. The JWU defense did the job from that point, keeping Pfeiffer at bay over the game's final half hour.Â
Fanelli had two shots on the day to lead the attack, while
Colin Starr made 2 saves in net.
The Wildcats are off until Friday, September 29th, when they travel to Christendom for a 4pm kickoff.
