Demorest, GA - Host Piedmont University defeated Johnson & Wales Charlotte 85-62 on Saturday afternoon.
Piedmont used a 9-4 run over the final 3:41 of the first half to forge a 39-30 halftime lead. After falling behind by as many as fourteen points early in the second half, the Wildcats trimmed the Lion advantage to just four points with ten minutes to play. JWU went cold from the field from that point, scoring just 8 points the rest of the way.
Jaylen Benson-Hollinhead led the Wildcats with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Nantambou Calhoun and
Nathan Meshida had 9 points each.
JWU returns home on Wednesday, November 20th to host Erskine College at 7pm.
