Charlotte, NC - Columbia College defeated Johnson & Wales Charlotte 85-55 on Monday evening.
The Wildcats forged an early 7-0 lead to start the game before Columbia rallied to lead 18-15 after the first quarter. The Koalas then forced 9 JWU turnovers in the second period en route to a 40-25 halftime advantage. Columbia again forced the Wildcats into several miscues in the third quarter as the lead grew to twenty four.
JWU outrebounded Columbia 51-35, including 20 on the offensive end, but could only turn those into 9 second chance points. The Wildcats struggled shooting the ball, making only 31.1% of their shots, and just 1 of 13 three point attempts.
Maliah Preston had a career high 21 points.
Joyiah White pulled down 11 rebounds.Â
