Bruins Edge Women's Soccer In Regular Season Finale

Charlotte, NC - Carolina University defeated Johnson & Wales Charlotte 2-1 on Wednesday night.

The Bruins scored once in each half to build a 2-0 advantage in wet and rainy conditions at Corvian Community High School. The Wildcats pulled one back with just under two minutes remaining when Katie Douglas picked up a deflected shot and fired it past Carolina U. keeper Alondra Locklear. JWU could not find an equalizer in the remaining regulation time.

Carolina outshot the Wildcats 12-5 on the evening. Douglas led JWU with 2 shots. Hanna Ciplickas had 2 saves in net.

The Wildcats learned earlier Wednesday afternoon that they had earned a berth into the USCAA National Championships, held November 14-19 in Pittsburgh. PA. JWU, the 4th seed will face the loser of the match between top seeded Cincinnati-Clermont and fifth seeded New Hampshire Tech. The game will take place on Friday, November 15th at 12:45pm.
