Pacers Knock Off Men's Basketball

Box Score Raleigh, NC - William Peace defeated Johnson & Wales 85-74 in men's basketball on Wednesday night.

The Pacers opened the game making eight of their first ten shots to open up a 21-6 lead. JWU spent the rest of the first half clawing their way back into the game and went into the break trailing by just four points, 41-37. 

A Nathan Meshida layup at the 9:27 mark of the second half made it a one possession game, 58-55, but a 9-2 William Peace run over the next two minutes extended their lead to double digits. JWU could get no closer than five points the remainder of the game.

Jaylen Benson-Hollinhead led the Wildcats with 17 points and 13 rebounds, Meshida scored 14 points, while Malcolm Warthen and Ethan Smith had 11 points each.

JWU next makes the trek up Beatties Ford Road to take on Johnson C. Smith on Saturday, Dec. 7th at 2:00pm.
