Swannanoa, NC - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte women's basketball team picked up its seventh road win of the season with a 81-50 win over Warren Wilson on Wednesday night.
Aimee Evans's eleven first quarter points helped the Wildcats build a 26-10 lead after ten minutes. JWU's lead increased to twenty-two points at 35-13 with six and a half minutes left in the second quarter ona three pointer from
Jamyah Blakeney. Warren Wilson rallied from this point, closing the half on a 16-2 spurt that left them trailing by just eight points, 37-29 at the break.
JWU regained control of the game with twelve unanswered points over a three and a half minute stretch midway through the third period that pushed their lead back to 22 points at 58-36. The Wildcats cruised through the fourth quarter as eleven of the thirteen players that saw action scored on the evening.
Evans posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Blakeney added 14 points, and
Gabby Tapley just missed a double-double, posting 12 points and 9 boards.Â
JWU continues their road trip on Saturday when they travel to Winston-Salem to take on Carolina University at 4pm.
