Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte men's basketball team scored 66 second half points en route to a 101-69 win over Carolina Christian on Tuesday night.
The Wildcats shook off a slow start, using an 11-5 run over the final five minutes of the first half to grab a ten point lead, 35-25 at the break. JWU's blistered the nets in the second half, shooting 62.2% form the field, led by
Jaylen Benson-Hollinhead and
Jaben Mars, who scored 17 and 15 points, respectively in the final twenty minutes.
Benson-Hollinhead (21 points, 10 rebounds) and Mars (17 points, 12 rebounds) each posted double-doubles as part of six Wildcat double-figure scorers.
Nathan Meshida and
Ethan Smith had 16 each, while
Cameron Lawson added 12 points, and
Brandon Summers scored 11.
JWU is next in action on Friday, February 16th when they play host to Voorhees College at 6pm.
