Men's Basketball Extends Wins Streak To Three

Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte men's basketball team set or tied a few school records on Monday night in a 119-46 win over Carolina Christian.

The Wildcats shot 60% from the field and 56.3% from the three point line in the first half in building a 68-19 lead after twenty minutes. Remarkably, the Wildcats actually shot a higher percentage from the field in the second half, 64.7% as they scored the second most points in a single game in school history. The Wildcats also tied a school record with 60 total rebounds. Their +42 rebound margin and 49 point halftime lead also set new school records. 

Nantambu Calhoun exploded for 27 points, a career high and the second most points scored in a single game by a freshman. He went 8-9 from the field and 7-8 from the three point line. Ethan Smith scored 26 points, also a career best, to go along with a dozen rebounds. Jaben Mars joined Smith with 12 boards, while adding 18 points of his own. Isaiah Escobar came off the bench to score 14 points.

The Wildcats wrap up the regular season on Saturday, February 24th when they host Virginia University of Lynchburg at 3pm.
