Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales tennis teams completed a busy week of matches against local foes amidst schedule changes to beat inclement weather.
The women welcomed Meredith on Wednesday, dropping a 7-2 decision. The Wildcats picked up a match win in doubles as the #3 pair of
Mandy Marth and
Iyana Barber emerged victorious over Meredith's Anna Bittler and Zoe Jones 8-3.
Erin Weidner was the lone Wildcat victor in singles, as she won her 8th match of the season 6-2, 6-4 over Ellie Phillips.
Thursday saw the Wildcat men play host to Pfeiffer, with the Falcons winning a 9-0 decision.
John Billinis saw the most success for JWU, falling in the #2 singles match 6-3, 7-5.
Pfeiffer again visited on Friday morning, this time with their women's team. The Falcons got off to a quick start, sweeping the three doubles matches en route to a 7-2 victory. Barber won the #6 singles match against Pfeiffer's Brianna Lail in straight sets, while Weidner again continued her excellent play, blanking Emily Moore 6-0, 6-0 in the #5 singles tilt.
The teams take to the road on Sunday, March 24th as they travel to Roanoke College for a 1:00pm match.
