Pineville, NC - Women's soccer doubled their season win total on Saturday afternoon as they posted a 2-0 shutout of Salem College.
The Wildcats were on the front foot most of the match as they outshot the Spirits 8-2 in the first half and 22-5 for the match. The Salem defense held strong for an hour, before finally giving way in the 61st minute.
Katie Douglas threaded a pass through the Spirit back line to an onrushing
Azalianna Absalom who then beat the keeper for the game's opening goal.
Taylor Witherspoon doubled the advantage exactly twenty minutes later when
Sarah Milne found her open at the top of the D and she tucked it in the lower right corner.
Katie Douglas had 5 shots, while
Olivia Kieffer fired 3 more.
Zoe Balmer made two saves in recording the shutout.
The Wildcats are on the road on Tuesday, September 17th when they travel to Misenheimer, NC to face Pfeiffer at 7:00pm.
