Salisbury, NC - Stevenson Barnes led a sweep of the titles at the Blue Bear XC Invite for the Johnson & Wales Charlotte men's cross country team on Thursday morning.

Barnes ran a 26:56.83 to repeat as the individual champion at the meet. Liam Robinson posted his highest collegiate finish with a 4th place, posting a time of 28:06.54. Dillon Neeley was 5th (28:12.37), and Logan Shaffer finished 6th in 28:16.49. Colby Williams was the final scoring runner for the Wildcats, running a 33:16.62 to take home 12th place. JWU's other participants were Colby Belk (33:54.22/13th) and Erick Paz (35:21.99 (17th). JWU's team score of 28 was the best in the field for the second consecutive year.

Sofia Varela set a new personl best in the women's race, taking home runner-up honors with a time of 21:51.23. Jalynn Wright finished 17th in 28:52.46, while Aitana Matuty came home 20th in a time of 29:58.83.

JWU's next event is the Greensboro Invitational on Saturday, September 28th at Hagan Stone Park in Pleasant Garden, NC.
