Pleasant Garden, NC - The Johnson & Wales men's cross country team claimed their second straight top two finish at the 40th annual Greensboro Invitational at Hagan Stone Park on Saturday afternoon.
Stevenson Barnes paced the Wildcats across the 5k course, finishing 10th overall in 17:10.03.
Logan Shaffer was 17th in 17:36.20, while
Dillon Neeley came home in 19th place with a time of 17:49.81.
Liam Robinson was right behind Neeley, posting a time of 17:51.38.
Erick Paz was the final scoring runner for JWU, finishing 38th in 20:40.94. JWU's team score of 74 points earned them 2nd place behing UNC-Pembroke in the team portion of the event.
Sofia Varela ran a 5k time of 22:37.73 to finish 7th. JWU's other women that completed the race were
Aitana Matuty (30:32.53/34th), and
Jalynn Wright (31:11.84/36th).
The Wildcats are next in action on Friday, October 11th when they run in the Royals XC Challenge at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte.Â
