Sumter, SC - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte men's basketball team won their second consecutive game and first road contest of the season on Wednesday night, rallying to defeat Morris College 70-68.
JWU trailed by one, 31-30 after the first twenty minutes, but built a five point lead, 48-43 in the first seven minutes of the second half. The Hornets responded with a 21-8 run over the next eight minutes that saw them lead by eight at 64-56.JWU closed strong from that point, scoring on seven of their final ten possessions, while holding Morris to just 4 points during that span.
The Wildcats shot a scorching 62.2% from the field as five players scored in double figures.
Jaylen Benson-Hollinhead and
Nathan Meshida scored 15 each, while combining for 12 rebounds.
Ethan Smith and
Malcolm Warthen had 12 apeice, while
Jordan Appling tallied 11 points.
JWU returns home on Monday, January 13th as they host Bob Jones at 6pm.
