Tennis Falls To Bluefield State

Charlotte, N.C. - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte men's and women's tennis teams hosted Bluefield State University for a pair of matches on Thursday afternoon.

The Big Blues won each match 7-0.

John Billinis and Hugo Cossias teamed to win the men's #1 doubles match 6-2. Despite holding leads in each of the other two doubles tilts, the Wildcats could not close either one out. Sam Cicciarello and Cayden Danzer forced a tiebreak in their match, ultimately falling 7-3 in the breaker.

The Wildcat women saw Anna Katherine Medlin and Payton Abrams win a game in their doubles contest, and Medlin also claimed a game in the #1 singles contest against Ekin Osmen. Patricia Byars won three games in the first set of her match in the #6 singles slot.

The JWU tennis teams will return to action on Saturday, November 8th, when they host Ferrum for a 3pm match.
