Pineville, N.C. - Johnson & Wales Charlotte and Montreat played to a 2-2 tie in men's soccer on Saturday afternoon.
The visiting Cavaliers scored twice in the opening twenty-five minutes as two of their four on target shots in the first half found the back of the net. JWU pulled a goal back just before halftime as
Niklas Seguin sent a cross from right to left across the front of the Montreat goal that
Justin Ortiz finished from eight yards out.
The Wildcat defense strengthened in the second half, holding Montreat without a shot. With ten minutes to play, JWU managed a tying goal. After a wild scramble in front of the Montreat net,
Jacobo Arias was able to head the ball just over the goal line before Cavalier keeper Adrian Torres could redirect the ball back into the field of play.
Cooper Jason made two saves in net for JWU.
The Wildcats are next in action on Tuesday, Septemeber 21st when they travel to Demorest, Ga. to take on Piedmont University at 4:00pm.
