Charlotte, N.C. - Warren Wilson defeated Johnson & Wales Charlotte 3-2 in volleyball on Wednesday night.
The Owls won by scores of 25-22, 25-21, 24-26, 21-25, 15-13.
Warren Wilson jumped out to a two set lead and seemed poised for the sweep as they lead 24-21 in set three. JWU rallied to score 5 straight points, capped off by an ace from
Madison Leslie to take the set. The Wildcats went on to win set four, and took a 12-6 lead in the final stanza. It was the Owls turn to rally at this point, as they closed the match on a 9-1 run, on the strength of five KJ Helinsky kills, to win in five sets.
Marion Bataoel led the Wildcats with 11 kills and 15 digs.
Madison Leslie had 23 assists, 2 service aces, and 10 digs.
Chanel Garcia recorded 20 digs.
The Wildcats are back at home on Saturday, October 25th for a tri-match. They take on Alice Lloyd College at 11am and then Johnson C. Smith at 3pm.
