Pineville, N.C. - Johnson & Wales Charlotte defeated Warren Wilson 3-0 in men's soccer on Saturday afternoon.
Following a scoreless first half, JWU got on the scoreboard seven minutes into the second stanza as
Yomar Peguero intercepted a Owl back pass, dribbled around the goalkeeper and slotted the ball into the empty net. The Wildcats doubled their advantage twelve minutes later when Antonio Terranova found a streaking
Niklas Seguin on the left side of the Warren Wilson six yard box, who promptly scored with his right foot. Seguin scored his team leading 8th goal of the season six minutes after that as JWU netminder
Colin Starr bombed a pass forward that Seguin outfought a Warren Wilson defender for. His initial shot was saved by Connor Hefner, but Seguin was first to the rebound, scoring on the open net.
Seguin had 5 shots on the afternoon, 3 of which were on target. Starr and
Jackson Acker combined on the shutout in goal for the Wildcats.
JWU is next in action on Wednesday, October 29th when they host Carolina University for a 6:00pm match.
