Men's Soccer Finishes Unbeaten At Home

Charlotte, N.C. - Johnson & Wales Charlotte defeated Regent University 5-2 in men's soccer on Saturday afternoon.

JWU scored the game's first goal on a header by Carter Bonini off of a Lucas Lesh corner kick in the fourteenth minute. Niklas Sequin used his head to notch JWU's second goal a half hour into the match, as he scored after Royal goalkeeper Trevor Grosch made an initial save off of Alan Ramirez's shot.

Lesh again registered a helper five minutes after halftime when he found Eugenio de la Parra Polina streaking across the top of the eighteen yard box. de la Parra Polina rocketed Lesh's pass into the top of the goal to give the Wildcats a 3-0 advantage. Yomar Peguero would be the beneficiary of Lesh's third assist of the game as he restored the Wildcats' four goal advantage after Regent had scored just three minutes prior. Luis Dorta added a fifth tally to close the scoring.

Lesh's three assists give him 19 for his career, tying him with Jalen Jackson as the program's all-time leader. JWU finished their home slate with an undefeated 6-0-1 record.

The Wildcats will next take part in the Coast-To-Coast Conference tournament, beginning on Wednesday, November 5th in Newport News, Va.
