Greensboro, N.C. - Guilford College defeated Johnson & Wales Charlotte 88-75 in women's basketball on Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats made just five of eighteen field goal attempts in the first quarter, falling behind 19-10. They caught fire in the second quarter, making eleven of twenty-one attempts, including two of five three pointers, and were able to shave four points off of their deficit.
JWU's shooting again faltered in the second half, as they connected on only 28% of their attempts, allowing Guilford to pull away for the thirteen point win.
De'Ashaj Crawford paced JWU with 21Â points and 5 assists.
Laylah Toscano had 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Korletta Daniels added 12 points and 7 boards.
JWU next travels to Averett University for a 3:00 PM tipoff on Monday, December 15th.
