Maryville, Tenn. - Host Maryville University defeated Johnson & Wales Charlotte 94-70 on the first day of the Renasant Bank Classic.

The Scots shot 52.8% from the field in the second half, outscoring the Wildcats by 19 in the period. They also enjoyed a 48-32 advantage on the boards.

JWU had six players score between 7 and 10 points, led by 10 each from Cooper Wiley and Antonio Perkins.

The Wildcats take on Covenant College today at 4:00pm in the final game of the weekend pair.
