Roanoke, VA - The Johnson & Wales women's tennis team picked up their second win of the season on Sunday afternoon, edging Hollins 4-3.
The Wildcats secured the doubles point to take an early lead as
Iyana Barber and
Kirsten Cannon won the #2 doubles match 6-3 and
Kayla Gibson and
Payton Abrams prevailed in the #3 doubles tilt 6-1.
Hollins won the first three singles matches to take a 3-1 lead before JWU rallied to win the final three. Cannon knocked off Sasha Mingo 6-2, 6-3 in the #4 singles match, while
Iyana Barber cruised 6-0, 6-0 in the #5 singles over Arabella Crookshanks.
Kayla Gibson then sealed the win with a 6-1, 6-3 triumph in the #6 singles match.
JWU is back in action on Monday, April 14 for their final home match of the season. They host Southern Virginia at 3pm.
