Pineville, N.C. - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte men's soccer teams won consecutive games for the first time this season with a 2-0 triumph over visiting Virginia State on Saturday afternoon.
Despite having the upper hand over the first forty-five minutes, the Wildcats were not able to find the back of the net against Virginia State. JWU took 9 shots, but only put two of them in a spot where Trojan goalkeeper Elijah Fernandez needed to make a save.
JWU finally broke through eight minutes into the second half when
Alan Ramirez served a ball into the middle of the Virginia State penalty area that
Niklas Seguin deftly deposited into goal. Seguin made it a double with three minutes to play as he scored his team leading fifth goal of the season off an assist from
Justin Ortiz.
The Wildcat defense held the Trojans to just four shots on the afternoon.
Jackson Acker made 2 saves in net for JWU.
JWU has a week off before welcoming Shaw to OrthoCarolina Sportsplex on October 6th for a 6:00pm kickoff.
