Women's Soccer Blanks Regent

Norfolk, Va. - Johnson & Wales Charlotte women's soccer got its first Coast-To-Coast Conference victory on Saturday afternoon, as they defeated Regent 3-0.

After a scoreless first forty-five minutes, the Wildcats got on the scoreboard less than five minutes into the second half. Elizabeth Parsells served a cross into the Royals penalty area that was turned into their own net by a Regent defender. Isabelle Gonzalez doubled the JWU advantage with thirty-three minutes remaining as she collected a clearance just outside the Regent penalty area and fired a rocket that nestled in the far top corner of the goal. Jess Garman also connected from long distance for the final Wildcat tally of the day, as she unleashed a shot from just outside the eighteen that hit the roof of the net.

JWU enjoyed a 16-6 advantage in shots, 12 of which were on target. Zoe Balmer made one save to earn the clean sheet in goal.

The Wildcats are next in action on Sunday, October 5th when they travel to Piedmont College in Demorest, Ga. for a 2pm game.
