Seguin's Penalty Kick Leads To Men's Soccer Win

Bridgewater, Va. - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte men's soccer team picked up their first win of the 2025 season with a 1-0 triumph over Bridgewater College on Friday afternoon.

The Wildcats took the lead early, as Niklas Seguin converted a penalty kick less than five minutes into the game. That would prove to be enough as the JWU defense stood tall for the remaining 85 minutes. The Eagles launched 17 shots in total, five of which were on target. Freshman goalkeeper Cooper Jason, making his first collegiate start, was equal to each task, recording five saves.

Lucas Lesh and Eugenio de la Parra Polina led JWU with two shots each, both putting one on frame.

The Wildcats wrap up their weekend swing through the Harrisonburg, Va. area on Saturday, September 6th when they take on Eastern Mennonite at 4:00pm.
