Charlotte, N.C. - Johnson & Wales Charlotte defeated the University of Mary Washingon 64-61 in women's basketball on Saturday afternoon.
 

Highlights:

• The Wildcats outscored Mary Washington 16-10 after one period and extended their lead to eight at halftime thanks to 16-32 (50%) shooting in the first half.
• Mary Washington rallied to tie the game heading into the fourth quarter as the Eagles held JWU to just 9 third quarter points. 
• JWU trailed by four with three minutes to play, but scored on their next three possessions to take a 63-61 lead. 

• The Wildcats converted 13 of 15 free throw attempts, while Mary Washington was just 10-18.
• JWu forced 26 Eagles miscues.
• Korletta Daniels led the Wildcats with 13 points. 
• Laylah Toscano, Maliah Preston, and Laken Powe each scored 11 points, while combining for 13 rebounds
