Charlotte, N.C. - Johnson & Wales Charlotte defeated Regent University 102-45 in women's basketball on Saturday afternoon.
JWU led by thirteen after one quarter, and extended that to twenty eight at halftime as they forced thirty Royals miscues in the first half. The Wildcats continued their good shooting and stout defense in the second half as they cruised to the win.
The Wildcats set a few new program records on the afternoon. They forced 46 Regent miscues.
Maliah Preston set a new single game record for steals with 11. Every Wildcat that saw action scored at least 4 points. JWU also had a season-high 22 assists.
Kyrah Davis led the Wildcats in scoring with 24 points.
Korletta Daniels had a great all around game. In addition to her 20 points on 10 of 17 shooting, she grabbed 4 rebounds, had 6 assists and 8 steals. Preston had 11 points to match her 11 steals.
Laylah Toscano just missed out on a double-double with 14 points and 9 steals.
JWU is next in action on Tuesday, February 10th when they travel to Bob Jones for a 5:00 pm game.
