Pfeiffer Tops Baseball

Indian Trail, N.C. - Pfeiffer defeated Johnson & Wales Charlotte 16-6 in baseball on Tuesday afternoon.

The Falcons jumped out to a 6-0 advantage after three and a half innings, only to see the Wildcats score four in the bottom of the fourth to draw within two. The big hit in the frame for JWU was a bases clearing triple from Sami Nezaj. JWU picked up single runs in the fifth and seventh innings, but couldn't keep the potent Pfeiffer offense quiet. The Falcons scored in each of the successive innings, with four of those runs coming in the ninth.

Sami Nezaj, Jayden Nezaj, and Dev Hernandez each had three hits on the afternoon. Wildcat starting pitcher James Long pitched 3.2 innings, allowing 5 earned runs. He walked one and struck out another.

The Wildcats next take to the road for a weekend series against Regent University in Virginia Beach, Va. The first game is Friday, March 27th at 7:00pm.
