Charlotte, N.C. - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte welcomed two opponents for matches this week, hosting Piedmont University on Tuesday, 3/31 and Johnson C. Smith on Friday, 4/3.
Piedmont won 7-0 on Tuesday. The Lions won the three doubles matches and then took the six singles contests in straight sets.
Danielle Brake had the most success of any Wildcat. She took the second set to a tiebreak, ultimately falling 7-4 to Piedmont's Emily Gonzalez in the breaker.
Johnson C. Smith faced off against JWU on Friday morning and swept the four singles matches to earn the victory. Anna-Katherine Medlin won four games in the first set against Divija Manneni in #1 singles, and
Kayla Gibson won three games across two sets in #3 singles.
JWU is off until Saturday, April 11th when they welcome Salem College for the final home match of the season. Start time is 2:00pm.
