Charlotte, N.C. - Johnson & Wales Charlotte softball is happy to announce the signing of Skylah Stephens as the eleventh member of the Wildcats' 2026 recruiting class.

Stephens plays first base and catcher at Wharton High School in Tampa, Fla. and was part of 45 wins for the Wildcats over the last four seasons, including a 12-8 mark in 2026. She hit .288 duirng her senior season, driving in 12 runs while scoring 15 herself. Stephens led the Wildcats with nine extra-base hits, including three home runs. She plays club softball for NLS Black.

She is the daughter of Stella and Anthony Stephens and plans to major in Liberal Studies at Johnson & Wales. When asked why she decided to become a Wildcat, Stephens replied, "I chose JWU because I immediately felt it was a school that would prioritize my future and help me achieve my goals beyond an undergraduate degree." Stephens is a member of the National Honor Society and made the Hillsboough College Dean's List in Fall 2025.
