Pineville, N.C. - Visiting William Peace defeated Johnson & Wales Charlotte 3-2 in men's soccer on Friday afternoon.
William Peace opened the scoring in the thirty-ninth minute when Topher Johnson found the back of the net for the visitors. The halftime whistle saw the arrival of storms and a two hour weather delay. The visitors added two goals in the span of five minutes just past the hour mark. JWU got on the scoreboard with five minutes to play, as
Taha Elhoudani scored off a pass from
Cody Gomez. The hosts pulled another back three minutes later as
Eli Adams slotted home a penalty kick to draw JWU within one. They could get no closer over the final two minutes.
Ryan Joye led the Wildcats with 2 shots, one of which was on target.
Colin Starr made 4 saves.
The Wildcats next travel to Swannanoa, N.C. on Wednesday, September 23rd to take on Warren Wilson. Kickoff is set for 3:00pm.
