2022 (Freshman): 2022 USCAA 1st Team All-American... Appeared in 32 matches, making 26 starts... Led the team in points (384.5), kills (307), service aces (48), and digs (499)... Ranked 7th nationally in kills, 4th in digs, and 13th in hitting % (.234)... Had a career-high 23 points in win over Allen on 10/13... Recorded a career-high 17 kiils in that match... Had 28 digs vs. NC Wesleyan on 9/15. 

PREP: Young played volleyball at Sumter High School in Sumter, SC, where she helped lead the Lady Gamecocks to a 9-7-1 record in 2021. She tallied 159 kills, 51 assists, and 138 digs during the season, earning her a place on the 2021 South Carolina Volleyball Coaches' 5A All-State Team. She was also selected for the 2021 SCCAWS North-South 4A-5A All-Star Game, and has twice been named All-Region. She played club volleyball in South Carolina for Sumter Juniors.

PERSONAL: She is the daughter of Ashaunette Pollard-Young, and Shontay Young. Her mother is active duty U.S. Air Force, while her father is retired U.S. Air Force. As such, Young has lived in several different states, and two foreign countries, Japan, and Germany. She started playing volleyball on the Ramstien Air Force High School team when she was only in 6th grade.
