Box Score Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales women's tennis team fell to Brevard 8-1 on Sunday in the program's first ever home match.
Eboni Montague, playing #2 singles, recorded the first match win in school history, defeating Brevard's Hamrick Perry 6-4, 6-1. Maira Teurel the Wildcats' #1 singles player won two games from the Tornandos' Hannah Hersh, but ulitmately lost 6-0, 6-2. Miranda Montes, Kendall Conrad, Hannah Stokes, and Ginger Gibson all were blanked in their singles matches.
Conrad and Montague fell to Brevard's #1 doubles duo of Perry and Sophie Trantham 8-3, while Teurel and Montes made a match of it against Hersh and Brooke Garland before losing 8-5. Stokes and Gibson were blanked by Melody Ferguson and Alli Kogoy in the third doubles matchup.
The Wildcats are next in action at Randolph on Saturday, February 19th for a 1pm match.
