Box Score Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte men's tennis team fell to Brevard 7-2 on Sunday, but did get the first two individual match wins in school history.
The top doubles team of Samuel Wilder and Joshua Dobson pushed the #1 Brevard duo of Devin Horton and James Srsich before eventually falling 8-6. JWU's #2 doubles combo of James Hagedoorn and Jonathan Millwood also lost 8-6 to the Tornados' Andrew Ingram and JaMarcus Walker. Abdullah Harper and Devonte Hill were blanked in the third doubles match.
Jonathan Millwood claimed the first individual match win in program history with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Noah Lewis. Samuel Wilder added a second win with a three set thriller, 6-3, 3-6, 10-5 over Horton. Joshua Dobson also went the distance against Noah Lewis before eventually falling 6-7 (6), 6-4, 10-3. James Hagedoorn won three games in the second set after being blanked in the first, as Brevard's Hunter Williams claimed that match. Abdullah Harper and Devonte Hill played well, but weren't able to scratch in their singles matches.
The Wildcats are next in action at Randolph on Saturday, February 19th for a 1pm match.
