Box Score Raleigh, NC - The Johnson & Wales women's tennis team took on Meredith on Sunday on the back end of a weekend doubleheader. The Avenging Angels swept the Wildcats 9-0.
Kendall Conrad lost 6-0, 6-0 to Aly Henneberry in the #1 singles match. Eboni Montague fell to Ellie Osborne by the same score in the #2 singles match. The #3 singles match saw Maira Teurel and Summer Elkins battle in a three set classic that went to 10-8 in the third set with Elkins prevailing. Hannah Stokes won a game in the #4 singles match before losing 6-1, 6-0 to Claire Southern. Miranda Montes and Ginger Gibson was blanked in the final two singles matches against Savannah Duduk and Ryann Jennings.
Henneberry and Osborne bested Montague and Conrad 8-3 in the #1 doubles match. Teurel and Montes went to a tiebreaker in the #2 doubles match just coming up short 9-8 (8-6). Gibson and Stokes won their first game of the season in doubles, but fell 8-1 to Southern and Duduk.
The Wildcats travel to Winston-Salem State on Saturday, February 26th for their next match.
