Women's Tennis Falls In First Match

Columbia, SC - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte women's tennis team traveled to NCAA D-II foe Benedict College for the program's first ever match on Wednesday.

The Wildcats fell 7-0.

Top singles player Maira Teurel lost 6-1, 6-0 to Esperance Follykoue, while second singles player Eboni Montague fell 6-1, 6-1 to  Patricia Wamba.

Miranda Montes, Ginger Gibson, Hannah Stokes, and Angela Onons also played singles matches for the Wildcats.

Teurel and Montague lost 6-1 to Follykoue and Wamba in the first doubles match, while the Tigers swept the other two doubles matches to claim the point.

The Wildcats are next in action on Sunday, February 13th when they host Brevard at Park Road Park for a 1pm match.
