Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte women's cross country team competed among 53 teams from across the southeast at the Royals Cross Country Challenge on Friday afternoon at McAlpine Creek Park.
The Wildcats were placed in the Blue race, and finished 19th of 24 teams in the 5k race.
Yenilitza Roman paced the WIldcats, finishing in 20:29.16. She was joined by
Cassie Bayes (23:30.86), Kacie Delaugher (23:38.97), and
Muchima Manengu (29:40.03) as counting runners for JWU. The fifth counting score came from junior
Isabella Gonzalez, who in her first collegiate race, posted a time of 25:45.24.
JWU's team score of 448 earned it 19th place.
The Wildcats are next in action on Saturday, October 14th when they travel to Spartanburg, SC to participate in the USC-Upstate Invite.
