Box Score 2 Charlotte, NC - Following two weeks of postponed matches, the Johnson & Wales women's tennis team was back in action this weekend with a pair of contests.
Friday's scheduled match against Belmont Abbey was moved up to Thursday due to weather concerns and saw host Belmont Abbey win 7-0. The #3 doubles team of Hannah Stokes and Erin Weidner won 3 games against the Crusaders' Alexus Govert and Andi Billingsley. Stokes and Weidner were the most successful singles players for the Wildcats on the day as well, each taking a pair of games from Belmont Abbey's Yaritza Gonzalez and Anna Steiner.
The Wildcats welcomed Patrick and Henry Community College on Saturday, and completed the season sweep of the Patriots by an 8-1 score. P&HCC's Emily Vaught and Blair Cole earned the only point with a 8-5 doubles win over Stokes and Weidner. Jacqueline Rodgers dispatched Vaught 6-2, 6-2 in the #1 singles match, while Gabriella Tully bested Cole 6-3, 6-3 in the #2 singles contest.
JWU wraps up the regular season on Friday, April 21st as they travel to Salem for a 2:00pm match.
