Box Score 2 Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales men's tennis team was back in action this week following consecutive rainouts last weekend.
Weather forced Friday's scheduled matches at Belmont Abbey to be moved up to Thursday afternoon in order to be played to completion. The homestanding Crusaders defeated the Wildcats 7-0. The #1 doubles pairs of Sam Ciciarello and Jonathan Millwood fell to Matthew Morant and Thomas Roberts 6-3. JWU's #3 pair of Devonte Hill and Wilder Noyes also dropped a 6-3 decision, while the #2 pair of Samuel Wilder and Dylan Hight fell 6-2.
Hight and Noyes had the best showings in singles play, as they each lost 6-4, 6-4 to Joseph Rowzie and Jaden Johnson, respectively.
The Wildcats hosted an undermanned Patrick and Henry Community College team on Saturday, and swept the matches 9-0. Sam Ciciarello's 6-1, 6-0 win over Francisco Coronado highlighted the day's action.
JWU wraps up the regular season on Tuesday, when they travel to Pfeiffer for a 3:00pm match.
