Yenilitza Roman's runner-up finish helped the Johnson & Wales women's cross country team to a 4th place finish at the Pfeiffer Cross Country Invitational.
Roman posted a season best 20:53.5 across the 5k course to grab 2nd place honors.
Betzy Hilario Urieta finished 14th in 23:00.1, while teammates
Kacie Delaughter (23:33.1/18th) and
Cassie Bayes (23:53.6/20th) also posted top 20 finishes.
Georgia Poirier, making her collegiate debut, ran a 28:03.5 to finish 40th and was the final counting runner for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats' 4th place tied their best mark of the season. Their point total of 87 was also a season best.
Johnson & Wales is next in action at the Akiah McMillan Invite at Columbia College on Saturday, September 30th.Â
