Box Score 2 Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte men's tennis team split a pair of tennis matches over the last week against Brevard and Methodist.
The Wildcats picked up a 6-3 win over Brevard on Saturday afternoon at Tuckeseegee Rec Center. The Tornados took the #1 doubles match as Bryce Bernitt and Hayden LeBlanc defeated
Jonathan Millwood and
Justin Wagner 8-3. JWU rallied to win both the #2 and #3 doubles matches as Sam Ciciarello and
John Billinis teamed to win their match 8-1, and
Hugo Cossais and
Fernando Esteban prevailed in a tiebreak in the doubles match, 8-7 (7-4)
Wagner won the #3 singles match 6-0, 6-4 over Brevard's Devin Horton, and Ciciarello took the #5 singles duel by an identical score.
Hugo Cossais emerged victorius in the #4 singles tilt, winning a three setter over Peter Bresko 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).
Dylan Hight also earned a deciding set victory over Brian Seon in the final singles match 6-0, 1-6, 6-2.
JWU welcomed in Methodist on Wednesday afternoon, and the Monarchs swept the series of matches 9-0. Billinis and Cicarello enjoyed the most success in doubles, taking 3 games off of Methodist's Wills Belser and Harry Crockam.Â
Wagner then battles Belser in the #3 singles match, ultimately falling 6-3, 6-4.
The Wildcats play host to Maryville on Sunday, February 25th at 11:00am.
