Sunday's scheduled match against Saint Vincent College was moved to Monday evening due to rain. The Wildcats won 4 of 6 singles matches and 2 of 3 doubles matches to claim a 6-3 win. The #1 doubles pair of
Jonathan Millwood and
Justin Wagner prevailed 8-3 in their match to earn a point, and then they duo each won their singles matches in straight sets to gain two more.Â
John Billinis and
Sam Cicciarello won the #2 doubles match 8-6. Billinis then completed a perfect outing with a straight set win in the #2 singles match.
Dylan Hight earned the final point of the match for JWU, as he won a three setter, 4-6, 6-2, 10-5.
That match was the end of a long day that started at 7:15am as they faced off with Buena Vista University. The Wildcats took down the Beavers 7-2. JWU again won the first two doubles tilts as the teams of Millwood/Wagner and Cicciarello/Billinis were easy victors. The Wildcats nearly ran the table in singles, taking the first five matches. Millwood, Billinis, Wagner, and
Hugo Cossais all won in straight sets, while Ciciarello went to a deciding third set where he prevailed 10-8.
JWU is back in action today at 2:00pm when they face Lancaster Bible.
